Overview

InterAx Biotech is pioneering experimental and computational systems biology approaches, combined with

machine learning, for quantification of drug effects on signaling networks. This gives deeper insight into drug

network effects before the drugs enter clinical trials.

The company is a growing Biotech based between Zurich and Basel, two important pharma/biotech hubs in

Switzerland. We are a friendly, dynamic, inter-disciplinary and multi-national team aiming to transform

preclinical drug discovery with new tools focusing on cellular networks. We currently focus on the largest

class of drug targets – GPCRs. In addition to the technology platform, InterAx runs an in-house anti-cancer

drug discovery program.

We are offering a position in the field of assay development and drug screening as Scientist Discovery &

Pharmacology.

You are a highly motivated, fully committed scientist with a strong profile in pharmacology. You have the

know-how to independently lead GPCR drug discovery projects and you enjoy working in an international

environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and perform in vitro cell-based signaling studies to characterize GPCRs therapeutics

Integrate the latest scientific knowledge to identify relevant cell systems / assays for a better biological

and mechanistic understanding of the target-disease relationship

Independently plan (including resources and personnel), execute, troubleshoot and interpret

experiments aiming at the discovery of new drug leads

Supervise co-workers and lead external research collaborations

Co-lead projects in a multidisciplinary team with biology and chemistry disciplines to constantly develop

and refine the strategic direction of projects

Clearly analyze and communicate scientific findings in written and verbal form

Education

PhD in Pharmacology, Cell Biology or related discipline.

Communicate project results internally and externally (e.g. to clients) via presentations and publications.

Qualifications

Significant hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and in-depth knowledge of cellular signaling

pathways.

Strong background in pharmacology, preferentially with a focus on GPCRs

Knowledge of data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism or R

Experience with designing and analyzing in vivo (mice) experiments is a plus

Experience in supervising, planning and managing projects and resources

You are highly motivated, creative and flexible individual with a passion for solving drug discovery /

screening related biological questions

Strong publication record in the fields of pharmacology or cell biology

Pharma or biotech industry experience is highly desirable.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to advance drug discovery projects.

Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
