Department

Our dynamic Development Department is responsible for raising over $600 million annually to support the mission of the organization. The Integrated Channel Marketing team functions as an internal agency in collaboration with the Audience team to drive donor-centric integrated marketing efforts, including prospect, renewal and cultivation fundraising campaigns.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking a full-time Integrated Channel Marketing (ICM), Project Manager to help manage planning and execution of integrated marketing fundraising campaigns for MSF-USA. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, Integration & Donor Experience, the ICM Project Manager has solid project management expertise and applies the tools and technology to ensure integrated campaigns are developed and executed on time, on budget and on brand. An excellent communicator, with a positive and proactive approach to collaboration, the ICM Project Manager will help facilitate planning with internal stakeholders, audience directors and channel managers and our external partners. This planning work drives critical business goals across the organization including: donor acquisition, conversion, engagement, upgrade, and reactivation.

On any given day you might:

  • Manage a check-in meeting on an integrated fundraising campaign with an internal team and external agency partners
  • Capture and communicate the decisions, owners and due dates from a project kick-off meeting
  • Ensure internal stakeholders are reviewing & approving campaign creative so that it is in line with our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Monitor status of necessary project tasks and communicate in a way that maintains accountability across teams and prevents problems before they start
  • Contribute process improvement and streamlining recommendations to enhance project delivery and efficiency
  • Lead project management for a rapid-response fundraising effort in response to a headline-making emergency, such as a natural disaster, outbreak, or conflict
  • Schedule and facilitate a design sprint or brainstorming session with people from a variety of departments, roles, and perspectives

Tasks

Job Responsibilities

You will report to the Senior Marketing Manager, Integration and Donor Experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management. With direction from the Senior Marketing Manager, Integration and Donor Experience the ICM Project Manager supports the project and stakeholder management side of the annual planning and budgeting process, quarterly campaign planning and rapid response fundraising initiatives. This role also supports and project manages the execution of integrated campaigns to help achieve strategic fundraising goals.
  • Requirements gathering. Gathers all project details, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and track down missing requirements as needed.
  • Documentation. Assists with the production of campaign documentation for effective communication of overall plans, goals and objectives required for internal approvals. Create project briefs and slide decks to set expectations and build buy-in; prepare after-action reports to share key learnings.
  • Develop project plans. Develop project plans for campaigns, sharing and managing these to successful and timely completion utilizing our digital project management and approvals platform (Workfront.)
  • Coordination and management. Organize and participate in kick-off meetings to ensure project participants know their responsibilities; coordinate internal teams and external partners to meet project milestones; responsible for project timelines, tracking and analysis to ensure the work is within budget and quality parameters; conduct project meetings, capture notes and identify deliverables to keep marketing projects on schedule.
  • Communication. Responsible for all aspects of project communication to stakeholders; ensures all necessary team members are engaged in the project; prepares project progress reports and close-out reports.
  • Problem solving. Works to identify potential problems or opportunities related to tactical execution; helps design risk mitigations or alternatives to project roadblocks and communicates up to Senior Marketing Manager, Integration and Donor Experience for review and further approvals as needed.
  • Process Improvement. Seeks efficiencies and contributes to process improvement initiatives to enhance delivery of projects (including practices, policies, templates and tools.)
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position not only has strong project management and workload prioritization skills but can also take a broader view of the team’s overall process, reporting and work to make continuous improvements to ensure efficiency, visibility, and communication. You are a collaborative colleague and results-oriented, driving execution across multiple projects at the same time.

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience and demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex projects independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage relationships with stakeholders to get results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and listening skills, including the ability to present and persuade. Strong diplomacy and tact.
  • Commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A track record of successful teamwork and collaboration, developing and maintaining strong working relationships and building buy-in with diverse groups
  • Flexible, action-oriented, open-minded and able to adapt, can effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably, adjusts for problems and roadblocks

  • Detail oriented, lays work out in a well-planned and organized manner and can break work down into the process steps – while still keeping an eye on the big picture and top priorities
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred but not required:

  • PMP Training or Certification preferred, but not required
  • Experience with WorkFront or other project management software a plus
  • Experience with marketing and/or non-profit fundraising

Expected to work in a hybrid remote work environment with the ability to come into either the NYC office or regional hub (Washington, DC or Bay Area, California) a minimum of 2 times a week.
