Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented specialist for the role of a Business Development – Institutional Partnership Specialist (Ukraine Response). Reporting to the Vice President – Global Foundations, Organization and Institutional Relations (GFOI), this position is responsible for leading and coordinating HFHI’s Ukraine response program’s fundraising efforts from professional foundations and institutional donors. This work will align with the GFOI processes. This specialist will have the skillset and capacity to adapt to the fast-changing humanitarian response environment and have a high-level understanding of institutional donors. Equally, they will build partnerships with peer organizations and be pro-active in pre-positioning with institutional partners in presenting HFH’s programs for the Ukraine response. The candidate will have strong internal collaboration skills and is experienced in leading proposal development. This specialist will have an intern to support the work and coordinate with the GFOI team, HFH’s national offices and HFHI’s humanitarian /development technical experts.

This is a 2-year position that will be based in Bratislava, Slovakia or Poland, with travel up to 30%.

ABOUT HABITAT’S RESPONSE TO THE UKRAINE CRISIS:

As millions of refugees flee violence in Ukraine, Habitat for Humanity is on the ground in four neighboring countries – Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia – helping meet the shelter needs of displaced families. We are supporting refugees on the move, supplying them with emergency travel kits and hotel vouchers. Habitat is also working on mid- and long-term accommodations for refugees, by subsidizing rentals, refurbishing communal spaces that can act as shelter and supporting mid-term hosting arrangements with families who have opened up their homes. We also plan to lend our housing and construction expertise to partners who repurpose so-called empty spaces – such as unused schools and factories – to serve as shelter for refugees.

Key Responsibilities:

To actively direct and coordinate HFH’s Ukraine response programs with FOI donors and Peers internally and externally:

Strong understanding of HFH’s Ukraine Response Programs and GFOI processes
Lead and collaborate with support from GFOI key internal stakeholders, including HFH Poland, HFH Romania, European / US Fundraising Teams, Netherlands, UK, Ireland, and Germany
Develop and manage external FOI relationships
With support from GFOI team and technical stakeholders, coordinate the development of quality, winning proposals, concept notes and timely submissions
Work with allocated intern (research, managing presentations and other relevant support provided by an intern)

Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in international relations, development studies or other relevant discipline
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising from professional foundations, bilateral and multilateral institutions in the international development/humanitarian sector
Experience in fundraising strategy development and donor relationship building with institutional donors
Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English with excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
Excellent team building skills and eagerness
Highly collaborative and solutions-oriented with a commitment to delivering excellent internal and external customer service
Strong attention to detail
Computer literate; able to effectively use spreadsheets, database, and project software
