About the Role
Transparency International is looking for a strategically thinking, politically savvy Fundraising Manager (m/f/d) to lead the institutional team and/or the foundations/corporate fundraising initiatives. Responsible to deliver successful resource mobilisation for TI-S strategy including managing TI-S’s donor relationships and proposals on behalf of TI-S and the wider movement. The Fundraising Manager plans, oversees and manages the development and implementation of specific fundraising strategies to raise funds from both existing and unexplored sectors and segments, testing and implementing these approaches, always with an eye toward diversification of funding streams. The role includes acting as support and stand in for the Head of Fundraising in management spaces and with donors as appropriate as well as lead or partner in approaches to new and existing donors.
The Fundraising Manager (m/f/d) manages TI-S’s relationships with donors on behalf of TI-S and the wider movement, managing approaches to and negotiations with these donors, preparing and facilitating donor interaction and ensuring adequate follow-up. The Fundraising Manager plans, oversees and manages the development and implementation of specific fundraising strategies to raise funds from both existing and unexplored sectors and segments, testing and implementing these approaches, always with an eye toward diversification of funding streams and ensuring exception quality throughout our proposal development process and in the management of institutional relationships.
The Fundraising Manager will also provide guidance to the Fundraising Coordinators across the Institutional and Foundation Fundraising team.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
Based in the Fundraising Team and reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Manager will:
- Be accountable for and provide guidance to institutional and/or foundations/corporate fundraising team
- Provide strategic direction and implement TI-S fundraising strategy (securing both project and unrestricted funding) in line with TI Strategic Plan and ensure KPIs for institutional and/or foundation fundraising team are met/on track
- Provide technical and content review, advice, and support to proposal development teams to deliver high quality and winning proposals
- Lead and coordinate complex proposal processes as needed
- Manage high profile and complex existing and prospect donor relationships to ensure sustained donor engagement and investment
- Expand TI networks and contacts among key institutional donors
- Ensure and maintain regular pipeline of fundraising opportunities by support reactive and proactive fundraising opportunities
- Support Fundraising Coordinators to explore new donor prospect in new markets, including government, foundation or corporate
- Provide in-depth political analysis and risk assessment for major existing and prospect institutional donors to support proposal teams to develop and pitch proactive concepts
- Work with fundraising team and others in TI-S and chapters to design and deliver TI donor visibility and engagement opportunities
- Represent and present on behalf of TI in relevant fora to advance TI-S fundraising objectives
- Strategize with TI-S cross-teams to design flexible program proposals that can support core recovery
- Support capacity building in institutional fundraising space (proposal development, prospecting, donor engagement etc.) to TI-S colleagues and chapters
- Foster strong relations with chapters to support greater joint proposal development
- Respond to fundraising inquiries from different teams and support strong cross-team collaboration to strengthen joint fundraising within the Secretariat
- Develop strategy for TI-S commercial tendering and lead and coordinate TI-related bids
- Provide advice and contribute to management decision making bodies related to fundraising
- Provide input and support review of relevant fundraising policies to advance TI-S fundraising objectives
- Ensure proposal development policy guidelines and other relevant institutional/foundation fundraising policies are up-to-date and that different teams are familiar and informed
CANDIDATE PROFILE
In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:
- Postgraduate university degree and/or professional qualification in fundraising, marketing, international relations, business administration, and/or other relevant fields
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience in fundraising and resource development, project development, proposal writing and contract negotiations with a strong focus on fundraising for complex projects and interventions, with a demonstrated track record of significant fundraising success and proven work experience with an in-depth understanding of international donor funding procedures, rules and regulations, including financial budgeting and reporting
- Strongly preferred candidate with a network in institutions and foundations
- Demonstrated track record of setting targets and meeting fundraising goals, while strengthening an organization’s reputation and reach
- Demonstrated experience in knowledge sharing and learning approaches and capacity development
- Very good understanding of programme design approaches, and how to develop theory of change and log frames
- A history of working collaboratively with others to complete creative or original campaigns or events, including the ability to plan and coordinate across a number of areas
- Demonstrated organizational skills and an ability to independently manage multiple projects and demands, while maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to meet and sit with senior leaders and decision makers
- Flexible and adaptable to organisational priorities
- Capable of working effectively under pressure and against tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and impeccable presentation skills
- Professional language proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential; additional languages, in particular German and/or French, an asset
- High level of intercultural awareness, diplomacy and political sensitivity
- Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of Transparency International and the field of anti-corruption
- Commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International
Terms of Appointment
Salary
Salary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF3 salary.
Contract Duration
Currently, we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organizational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.
