The position is to be filled by November 1, 2022, with an unlimited contract duration. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

As Institutional Donor Relations Manager you will help secure and expand institutional funding and strategically develop cooperation with institutional donors within the Institutional Donor Relations Unit. You will be the key contact of Welthungerhilfe for a specific institutional donor. Through your work, you will enhance Welthungerhilfe’s profile and visibility as a key player in humanitarian aid and development cooperation, particularly in sustainable food security.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategy on the respective donor within the institutional donor strategy framework
  • Coordinate the application process and ensure that applications and reports are submitted to the respective donor with high quality and in accordance with donor guidelines
  • Assist in the development of donor and funding strategies at Unit- and Country Office level
  • Participate in donor conferences and in relevant networks of the respective donor
  • Prepare, support and conduct (high-level) donor visits
  • Analyze, interpret and process information and relevant policies and trends of the respective donor
  • Identify new funding opportunities from the respective donor and optimize terms and conditions

Your profile

  • A university or polytechnical degree in the field of social sciences, development policy, international relations or a comparable degree
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in international development cooperation
  • Experience in planning and implementing development cooperation measures
  • Good knowledge of institutional donors, especially German donors/ BMZ
  • Strong negotiation and cooperation skills, ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and stress resistance
  • Strong texting and reports writing skills
  • Very good ability to work in an intercultural environment and willingness to travel outside of Europe
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills, French language skills are an advantage
