Do you want to apply your academic knowledge to real world app dev challenges? The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is currently seeking a six month Co-Op within our Information Technology department.
The Co-Op will be assigned to our Back Office Application Development Team, assisting with supporting, maintaining and developing systems used at the Bank. This is an opportunity to grow your financial systems knowledge through development of the Bank’s inhouse and vendor-supported systems.
Accountabilities:
- Application analysis, design, development and testing.
- Supporting the Bank’s internally developed and vendor provided applications.
- Working with end users to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Requirements:
- Sophomore through Senior working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or graduate student in Masters of Engineering/Computer Science program.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Detail-oriented.
- Interest in or understanding of financial institutions and financial instruments.
- Java stack development knowledge.
- Knowledge of agile/waterfall development practices.
- MS SQL Server knowledge, including SQL Server Reporting Services and/or SQL Server Integration Services.
Core bank hours are 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Current students and candidates with a strong interest in application development and who are able to work full-time hours are preferred.
Compensation Range:
Hourly: $20.00 – $25.00
This salary range represents the Bank’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of hire. Offer to be determined by selected applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
