Information Management Coordinator

MECS

Duty Station: Gaziantep, Turkey with the ability to work remotely.

Reporting to: IMU Director.

Duration: six months with the possibility for an extension to one year.

**Because of the nature of the job which entails managing teams of female field researchers, out of respect for cultural sensitivities, the position is open to female candidates only.

Position summary and working conditions:

Middle East Consulting Solutions (MECS) is a research firm with a fast-growing portfolio in the MENA region. It involves skilled experts with proven track records, dedicated to providing services and contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of the humanitarian and development sectors. We provide services to a wide range of humanitarian and development stakeholders, focusing on Research, Assessments, Third-Party Monitoring and Program Evaluations.

The information management coordinator will be part of the MECS Information Management Unit (IMU), which manages all data collection activities, data validation, training, data quality control, and information management systems of MECS. The coordinator will be responsible for managing data-related tasks with the field teams, supervising data collection activities and providing technical backstopping for field teams, training and capacity building of field teams, in addition to participating in technical activities such as data quality control, data validation, data cleaning and other similar activities.

The Coordinator will be working at MECS’s office in Gaziantep, with the flexibility to work remotely when needed. Possible travels to Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, or Portugal might be requested from the coordinator, depending on needs.

Working hours: 8 working hours/day, with the flexibility to work when required and suitable to follow up with the field teams, the candidate should be willing to be flexible, and dedicate time for daily communication with the field team during the data collection period. The coordinator will be eligible for official holidays in Turkey, as well as 2 days of paid leave per month.

Required Skills:

  • Professional skills and experience in managing field teams, and the ability to proactively coordinate with different clients in different geographies and different time zones.

  • The ability to dynamically follow up on the daily fieldwork and conduct regular data validation, noting that flexibility is highly needed, as MECS field teams are largely working in fragile contexts.

  • Excellent experience in data collection tools such as KOBO (web-based and mobile app).

  • Excellent experience in data collection tools and methodologies, in addition to an excellent record in training field teams on data collection.

  • Good data analyses skills are preferable.

  • Remote team management skills.

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel (advanced level and proven working experience)

  • Experience in working on Microsoft word (advanced level)

  • Excellent Arabic language skills in reading, speaking, and writing.

  • Excellent English language skills in reading, speaking, and writing. The working language in Turkish is an asset.

  • To be detail-oriented and have a great team spirit and be able to work professionally under pressure and be part of a diverse team of professionals from several nationalities and backgrounds.
