Background

GENERAL

  • Project Set up
  • During the initial stages of deployment, the IM coordinator will trigger the communication process with the team in Ukraine.
  • Conduct a capacity assessment of the team and determine availability of various data sources from Humanitarian clusters, which is an important stage in building the IM Unit’s infrastructure and streamlining data collection to ensure that the production team receives evidence-based/validated data in a timely manner.
  • On a regular basis, IM coordinator meets with the Project Manager (PM) to review progress and discuss future steps.
  • Coordination with other country offices programs, in order to identify the best practices applicable for Ukraine context.

  • Project Implementation

  • Setting up regular IM meetings to coordinate IM activities;

  • Briefing on rolling out the task management tool;

  • Implantation of data collection and product tracking system;

  • Standardization of information collection and data sharing in a structured manner;

  • Individual capacity enhancement of the IM team;

  • Establishing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework to track performance and achieved results in IM unit.

  • Identify Problems or Risks

  • Being so closely involved in the project, the IM coordinator is relied upon to identify any potential issues or risks that could affect the progression of the project. They communicate these items with the PM, and work to identify potential solutions.

  • External Communications

  • Increase Data sharing through liaising with the humanitarian community

  • Coordinating with Ukraine Clusters and partners to harmonize data dissemination stewardship

  • Facilitate data integration and reusability; to improve data quality through the use of datasets, cleaned health related data layers and data management tools implemented by iMMAP and specially adapted for Yemen.

  • Establish relationship and attends technical meetings with other NGOs and networks when appropriate.

  • General Management

  • Report regularly to PM about project management matters.

  • Implement project operating procedures together with project team members.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • University degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in Information Science, Geographical Information Systems, Computer Science or another relevant field;
  • Minimum five (5) years of work experience in the field of Information Management is essential;
  • Experience in data processing and analysis, reports generation;
  • Demonstrable skills in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation procedures;
  • Excellent command of Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills;
  • Very good English, both spoken and written.

DESIRED

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in emergency response or humanitarian environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability and experience interacting with a wide range of organizations while upholding humanitarian principles of impartiality and neutrality.

  • Willingness to work under tight deadlines
  • Physically fit and able to cope with demands of unusual working hours and difficult environments.
