Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will join a friendly and vibrant team in our mission to grow unrestricted income and inspire individuals to become long term supporters.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Individual Giving and Legacy Team to help achieve our income targets and develop our base of individual supporters. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager, you will manage a busy and varied workload of appeals and engagement communications across a range of traditional and digital channels.

The role will work with teams across the organisation to develop the Individual Giving programme to retain current and attract new supporters. It includes project managing direct mail appeals and our quarterly supporter magazine, developing our virtual gift catalogue, and growing regular giving income.

Who we are looking for:

A talented and motivated individual interested in international aid and experienced in public fundraising, with a clear passion for inspiring supporters.

The successful candidate will be a personable, ambitious and self-motivated individual passionate about developing two-way relationships with our supporters. In addition, you should have a good eye for design and have experience of marketing tactics across traditional and digital channels.

This role will suit someone who can inspire and coordinate individuals and teams across the organisation as well as build relationships with external suppliers. You must also have excellent planning and communication skills and the ability to interpret numerical and statistical information to monitor performance

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Project manage several concurrent multichannel direct marketing campaigns, appeals and other donor communications for ShelterBox’s Individual supporters within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Liaise and build relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and a collaborative approach to developing and delivering campaigns
  • Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Insight Manager to design and test creative approaches to maximise campaign results
  • Work with Insight and Digital teams to develop, implement and test a variety of donor journeys
  • Proof copy, artwork and data, ensuring that creative is delivered to the highest standard
  • Monitor results and analysis of campaigns and provide recommendations for improving of future campaign results
  • Work closely with Digital Team to test and develop digital activity to improve income and supporter retentions
  • Work with external agencies to develop creative briefs and concepts and evaluate copy and artwork to ensure campaigns are delivered to brief and a high standard
  • Support book club member communications and events to ensure excellent member experience
  • Manage day to day relationships with suppliers including agencies, printers, and designers to ensure quality and timely delivery of services
  • Develop and implement an emergency appeal plan to generate income from existing supporters and the public during high profile disasters
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in the fundraising sector, particularly concerning best practices and compliance regulation and ensure these are followed on all campaigns
