  • Currently enrolled in Degree program in Social Sciences, Native Studies, Business, Social Work, Community Development, Political Science and/or Public Administration, Communications, and or related field of study, with at least 2 years of your program completed
  • An interest in communicating social sciences research findings to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to express ideas and concepts effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Basic data analysis skills
  • Proficiency with software such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

This position may be partially funded by the Canada Summer Jobs Program provided by Service Canada.

  • Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered:
  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Priority will be given to applications from candidates who self-identify as being part of underrepresented groups or as having additional barriers to entering or staying in the labour market as outlined below:
  • New immigrant / refugee youth (new is defined as having arrived in Canada in the past 5 years)
  • Indigenous youth
  • Youth who have not completed high school
  • Visible minorities / racialized youth
  • LGBTQ2 youth
  • Women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
  • Youth who have not previously been employed and for whom this would be their first job experience
  • Youth with disabilities

  • Currently enrolled and returning to school or a Post-Secondary Institution in the fall
  • Applicants must be Metis, First Nation or Inuit

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Salary: $19.749 – 25.135 (Hourly)
