Organizational Context and Scope:

IOM, UN Migration Agency in Valencia, Spain is looking for an ICT Officer (Cloud DevOPS Engineer) who will be responsible for developing, designing, implementation and supporting of cloud technology and solutions to meet specific business needs.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education

• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
• University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
• Professional certification in AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert may be considered an equivalent diploma with 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Experience in designing, configuring, and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automating application build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Experience with IaC tools like Azure Resource Manager templates, Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience in Implementing security best practices, access control, and compliance measures in Azure DevOps pipelines. Ensuring that deployments meet security and compliance standards.
• Experienced with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations and EA and ITIL frameworks.

Skills

• Knowledge of Azure/AWS ecosystems: software as a service (Saas), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform a a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs.
• Exposure to Data Centre Optimization, Data Centre Management Processes, Virtualization, public cloud services (AWS and/or Azure).
• Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies and processing environments.
• Azure DevOPS Expertise: Strong proficiency in Azure DevOPS services and tools including Azure Pipelines, Azure Repos and Azure Artifacts.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash or Python for automating tasks and configurations.
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in a DevOPS environment.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and documentation.

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish and/or another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, and Russian) is an advantage.
