IRW is currently recruiting for the position of ‘ICT Desktop Support Technician’ to join its dynamic ICT Division. The purpose of the role is to provide 1st and 2nd line support to all staff at the base location, working with third-party support teams where required. Duties include troubleshooting, supporting and managing issues with workstations, laptops, telephones and authorised software with a basic knowledge of networking and infrastructure.
The DST works with the ICT team to:
- resolve user queries and issues
- apply fixes or workarounds
- assist with the investigation of problems
- maintain ICT systems, networks and assets.
- support the IRUK AV systems
- provide user induction and user training on the local ICT services
- Introduce new solutions
The DST also works to support the ICT team members to support the services provided by Islamic Relief global datacentres.
The successful candidate must have:
- Experience in a desktop support role with an extensive understanding of the workings of user devices such as computers, laptops, peripherals and mobiles
- Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written and spoken English
- Behaves in a positive manner encouraging staff to give honest feedback on ICT services
- Can provide support and training to users on new and existing systems
- Experience of Microsoft Office 365 administration
- Experience of Microsoft Active Directory including Group Policy
- Experience of delivering small projects and service improvements
