Position title: Humanitarian Team Leader**

Duty station: Lima, Peru (or another city in Peru), with regional deployment up to 30% of total working time **

Contract duration: indefinite.

Eligibility: national candidates **

Start: ASAP (1 month notice maximum).

We are looking, on behalf of a global humanitarian organization, for national professionals ready to join a Senior Management Team to provide strategic direction and technical leadership to all programmatic aspects of organization’s humanitarian and emergency response in Peru, including disaster risk reduction. S/he/they ensures that programme activities are effective and meet the long-term goals and objectives of organization, its donors and the target population. Ensures an immediate and adequate response to the needs of children during humanitarian crises.

Ensures intersectoral collaboration between technical units. Ensures that funding proposals are developed and that donor reporting requirements are met, and that they are of the highest quality and complying with Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS). Makes sure that organization’s commitment to improving quality and accountability in humanitarian work is respected and that all relevant policies and procedures regarding the protection, health and safety of children are complied with according to the CHS.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

· Master’s degree in a relevant field (Social Development, International Relations, others) or Bachelor´s degree in a relevant field with at least 10 years of experience in humanitarian response and programming;

· Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in advising, preparing and responding to humanitarian programmes in various fragile or complex contexts with some experience (2-3 years) in managerial roles (asset);

· In-depth understanding of international humanitarian aid systems and agencies (specifically biggest U.S. donors, like USAID);

· Experience working in crisis and complex security management environments;

· Extensive knowledge of the concepts, policies, frameworks, strategies and components of humanitarian response and the transition programme, as well as development concepts and frameworks;

· Extensive field experience in multisectoral humanitarian response, including cash transfer and food aid programmes;

· Business development skills (Project writing and reporting both in English and Spanish);

· Strong budgeting skills and knowledge of key donor regulations;

· A leader passionate about work in the field, able and willing be deployed when needed (in often difficult and unsafe environments) and to organize a team in strong emergencies conditions;

· Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including influence, negotiation and coaching;

· Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;

· Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
