Danish Red Cross

Danish Red Cross is hereby adverting for two newly created leadership positions in the International Department. Both positions are created in support of a recently launched and ambitious new international strategy for Danish Red Cross focusing on making a difference for people living in complex and protracted crisis contexts with a focus on health, disaster management and inclusion of marginalized groups. Evaluation, Policy, Analysis & Learning

The first position will lead a small Unit of 7 colleagues dedicated to strengthening strategic evaluation and learning, data and analysis and international policy influencing in areas of focus. If your passion and expertise is how cutting-edge analysis, research, evaluation end learning can add value and inform strategic policy influencing, humanitarian diplomacy and improved programming – this is for you.

Programme Excellence & Support

The second position will lead a larger Unit of 14 colleagues dedicated to set strategic direction in our thematic areas of focus and cross cutting priorities. If you know how to develop and execute programmatic excellency in a big humanitarian organization and combine it with policy influencing and partnerships to achieve ambitious results and change the world – this is for you.

Both positions and Units are part of bigger eco systems of colleagues in HQ, regions and countries, other Red Cross movement partners and colleagues outside the movement, both global and local. Interested candidates therefore most value co-creation, shared leadership, and partnership; leads with trust, integrity, and compassion and strive for excellence in what we bring and collaboration in how we work.

The positions are part of the management group of the International Department and reports to the International Director.

Profiles

We expect relevant backgrounds in terms managerial experience and knowledge of the international humanitarian context. Ability to work independently, structured as well as solid planning and organisational skills. As leader you must be able to cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation and beyond. We are busy and ability to prioritise and ensure progress is a much-needed skill to succeed in the positions on a long-term basis. Finally, it is important that both are strong communicators verbally as well as in writing.​

The positions are full-time positions – 37 working hours per week. The positions require flexibility as up to 2-3 months of travel a year is expected.
Both positions refer to the International Director in Copenhagen.
Salary and employment conditions will comply with Danish Red Cross’s collective bargain agreement with HK and AC.
