Doctors with Africa CUAMM is the first Italian healthcare-focused NGO officially recognized by Italian authorities.
Founded in 1950 with the aim of training doctors to work in developing countries, Doctors with Africa CUAMM is working in Angola, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and the Central African Republic implementing healthcare projects in partnership with local governments and institutions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in health, social work or related field
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Previous experience in managing cooperation projects in fragile and/or low-resources countries
  • Previous experience in starting up projects in resource-limited contexts will be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in managing emergency projects will be considered an asset
  • High adaptability to live and work in remote areas and difficult conditions

KEY DUTIES
The Humanitarian Expert is called upon to support the Project Manager in opening a base in Filtu and in the start-up of two emergency projects in the Somali Region. The intervention aims at supporting the health facilities in the area and fighting malnutrition (especially acute malnutrition). In particular, the Humanitarian Expert will:

  • support the elaboration of the operational workplan and its discussion with local authorities
  • take care of the preparation of the procurement plan
  • be in charge of the identification and set-up of an office
  • carry out possible recruitment and selection of project staff
  • ensure the management of the initial phase of the projects
  • guarantee reporting set-up
