ROLE PURPOSE:

As a global movement Save the Children has exceptionally ambitious advocacy, supporter growth, fundraising and programme delivery targets designed to maximise the positive impact that we can have for children across the world.

Powerful and engaging content is critical to achieving this ambition, whether across fundraising targets, when lobbying for political change, or raising brand and media profile. We are looking to transform the way we tell stories, creating memorable interactions with supporters through high quality, emotional, authentic global creative content.

The Global Creative Content Unit (GCCU) is a small and nimble team, providing children’s stories and supporter engagement content for Save the Children Members offices around the world.

As Associate Humanitarian Producer, you will work closely with the Global Humanitarian Producer, and Save the Children’s Member organisations to meet the content needs of the different markets and deliver outstanding content. You will focus on producing fundraising and campaigns material and content for our humanitarian work, to support the global Children’s Emergency Fund and category 1 and 2 and prioritised emergencies, as well as respond to humanitarian reactive moments and highlight on-going projects.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile, lead on the development of content in partnership with the Global Media Unit and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Technical: Global Humanitarian Content Producer

Administrative: MENAEE ACCM team.

Role Dimensions: You will work closely with GCCU colleagues. You will also be expected to work with peers in other global teams including humanitarian fundraising, media, campaigns and communications to deliver what is needed.

Team / Programme: Global Creative Content Unit

Location: Jordan or anywhere in the MENAEE region where SCI has a presence (National)

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 2: either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working in a ‘regulated’ position.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Play a key role in processing and producing humanitarian content, supporting the priorities of the GCCU team:

·Support the Global Humanitarian Content Producer in the event of a rapid onset emergency by processing fast turnaround content such as image packages, B-Roll and Interview packages to support organisational goals and fundraising.

·Produce content packages from ongoing humanitarian responses – taking ownership of content processing, editing B-Roll and interview packages and compiling case studies.

·Creating edited assets such as vlogs, short social media videos, simple impact graphics, to support organisational goals and fundraising, often in an environment where speed to market is key.

·Upload and process content using Save the Children’s global content library, ContentHub, ensuring accuracy.

·Supporting the Global Humanitarian Content Producer to plan and produce complex overseas content gathering trips highlighting Save the Children’s ongoing humanitarian work.

·Review content packages and create short digital content (such as reels, Tik Toks) to strengthen presence of humanitarian content on social platforms.

·Liaise with country office staff to process ad-hoc content as received from countries in Catergory-1 and 2 responses to ensure safeguarding, consent and metadata is complete.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential

·Enjoy working in a high paced environment with multiple projects and priorities, able to deliver to tight deadlines.

·1-2 years minimum experience of working in content / fundraising / communications

·Knowledge of Adobe suite, specifically Premiere Pro and InDesign

·Ability to video edit, ideally in a fast turnaround environment

·Good communication skills with colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds

·Excellent organisational skills

·Diplomacy and excellent interpersonal skills

·Excellent writing skills, ideally with experience of writing up interviews / case for supports.

·Strong attention to detail.

·Fluency in English and Arabic with strong written English skills.

·A commitment and passion to work within an NGO environment

·Commitment to the best practice in ethical and production values for content gathering – constantly seeking to improve standards to ensure Save the Children leads the way for the industry.

·Commitment to the aims and principles of Save the Children. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin all aspects of work.

·Commitment to Save the Children’s child protection policy.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic with srtong written English skills.

Desirable

·Experience in fundraising content for NGOs

·Knowledge of digital, fundraising, marketing products and channels.

·In-depth understanding of different types of content and uses

·Experience in using InDesign to design infographics and photo-shop for imagery.

·Experience of online archiving systems for photos and film.

·Passion for following market trends across NGO, media, corporate, consumer sectors – sharing inspiring ideas.

·Interest and awareness of current affairs and humanitarian context in all regions
