Humanitarian Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Specialist, LAC Region

The Opportunity

Save the Children LAC RO is currently recruiting for an experienced Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Specialist to support programming in the LAC region. We are looking for a committed M&E professional with a proven track record in humanitarian contexts.

Key areas of responsibility

This position supports monitoring, evaluation, learning, and accountability (MEAL) for humanitarian programmes in the LAC region. It provides leadership on MEAL systems and processes and leads training and capacity building on MEAL for colleagues at SCI country and domestic member offices, and emergency award field teams.

The position will provide consistent support to humanitarian programmes in the LAC region on data analysis, indicator development and tracking, target setting, accountability systems, MEAL-related donor deliverables, research, and evaluations. The post holder will work with regional and country programme teams to ensure that the data collected is appropriately used for program improvements and learning. In addition, this position will support proposal development and explore innovative uses for technology in MEAL in humanitarian settings.

In order to be successful, you will have:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Substantial MEAL experience in emergency settings.
  • MEAL training, coaching and capacity building experience.
  • Experience in implementing MEAL systems, including in quantitative and qualitative data collection and management.
