What you will do:

With your colleagues you will develop your team workplan to drive initiatives, develop ideas, as well ensure there is space for cross organisational working and short-term tasks. From this you will devise your individual workplan that will form the basis of your day to day activities and your performance reviews.

As Human Resources Officer you will:

• Support Global HR Managers at all stages of recruitment processes including publishing job adverts, downloading and saving applications, longlisting, arranging job interviews, taking out references and communication with candidates and recruiting managers

• Support the on-boarding of new staff including preparation of contracts, collecting required documentation, creating HR database records, setting up email accounts and ensuring processing of information for payroll

• Support the recruitment and contracting of consultants including publishing consultancy opportunity adverts, arranging interviews, taking out references, preparing contracts.

• Support the Head of Human Resources with tasks associated with learning and development and staff welfare activities

• Support with the review of HR policies and procedures

• Provide cover for the Payroll and HR Systems Officer in their absence

• Any other tasks as required

Person Specification

You will be someone with:

• Experience of working in an HR team and understanding key HR processes and activities, particularly recruitment, contracts and onboarding.

• A professional HR qualification is highly desirable

• Strong IT skills with an ability to use different online systems

• Knowledge of HR databases

• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people from different cultures and background

• Ability to organise own work and to work to deadlines

• Previous experience of working in an international organisation and across countries highly desirable

HelpAge International is entering into an exciting phase of its evolution as we fundamentally transform what we do, how we do it and how we are organised.
