JOB PURPOSE

People and Organisational Development (POD) acquires, develops, and retains talent; aligns the workforce with the strategy and objectives of the organisation; and manages changes in the organisation and people to maximise their effectiveness. The team comprises of managers who lead the following areas, Business Partnering, Employee Relations, HR Operations, Reward, Recruitment and Resourcing, Learning and Development, Internal Communication and Diversity and inclusion.

In your role, you will be partnering with the Regional Offices globally and/or Directorates in our London Offices, offering a proactive, solutions-focused approach to improve organisational effectiveness. You will be part of the POD management team and proactively contribute to the wider directorate planning, development, and delivery. In this role, you will be working in partnership and consulting with Senior Directors and their management teams, providing support and guidance in all HR related matters including organisational design, development, employee relations, and change management, and escalating when necessary.

ABOUT YOU

You will have previous experience of working in a complex multi-suite, matrixed environment with a preferable international focus. It is important for you to have an up-to-date working knowledge of employment law(s), including experience of supporting complex casework. We strive to maintain a collaborative working approach and are looking for a team player to join the POD team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the POD management team, actively partner the organisation to drive the implementation any initiatives arising such as Employee Experience, Racial Equality, Diversity & Inclusion or Culture Survey, to shift Amnesty into a positive culture and vision-led organisation
  • Working in partnership and consulting with Senior Directors and their management teams, providing support, coaching, and guidance in all HR-related matters
  • Partner with the business to create plans to attract, retain, and motivate their people which in turn will help them achieve their strategic goals
  • Work with designated client group to develop succession and development plans around their people to enable them to succeed

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • You will have operated in a complex multi-site, matrixed environment with preferably an international focus
  • An up-to-date working knowledge of employment law(s) and good practice people management, including experience in supporting complex casework
  • Personally credible, with the gravitas that generates the trust and confidence of managers and staff
  • You will possess a high level of resilience and drive, able to be flexible and change orientation as required
