About the role
The HR Operations Manager works in close collaboration with the HR Assistant and the HRBP. The HR Operations Manager role involves overseeing the daily HR functions, including payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS management. The HR Operations Manager develops and implements HR policies, ensures compliance with regulations, and streamlines processes for efficiency.
Your responsibilities
- Employee Lifecycle: managing activities relating to the full employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding.
- Payroll Processing: work with an outsourced payroll provider to process payroll for Zurich based employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations, deductions, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Benefits Administration: support benefits enrolment, changes, and enquiries, working closely with employees and benefits providers.
- Employee Relations: serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
- HR Administration: draft reference letters and contractual documents in German and English.
- HRIS: maintain and update employee records, both physical and digital. Manage HR databases and systems.
- Reporting: prepare HR reports and analytics as needed, including payroll summaries, allocation lists for Finance, and insurance reports.
- Compliance and Policies: assist in ensuring HR policies and procedures are followed. Stay up-to-date with labour laws and regulations. Support HR audits and compliance efforts.
- Staying up-to-date on HR trends and best practices: HR Operations Manager need to stay up-to-date on the latest HR trends and best practices in order to provide effective support to the organization.
- Optimization: streamline and improve HR processes for efficiency and implement best practices to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Your profile
- Education: Swiss Federal diploma in HR or payroll (HR Specialist)
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in HR operations is required.
- Compliance Knowledge: familiarity with labor laws and HR best practices.
- Problem-Solving: strong problem-solving skills in employee relations, recruitment, and other HR-related matters.
- Attention to Detail: strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Analytical Skills: ability to analyse data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues effectively.
- Organization: effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Confidentiality: maintain strict confidentiality of HR information.
- Relationship building and empathy: ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees and managers, build trust as well as understand and share the feelings of others.
