POSITION SUMMARY:

HIAS seeks a HR Officer to work under the direct supervision of the HR Manager. The HR Officer is responsible for providing human resources support to HIAS Ukraine office staff. This person will ensure adherence to HIAS HR policies and practices, as well as compliance with Ukrainian Labor Law. This position can be based in Kyiv, Chernivsty, or Vinnytsia.

This position is for Ukrainian nationals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate in the recruitment process when required.
  • Assist HR Manager in providing staff with orientation, on-boarding, trainings and updated guidelines.
  • Provide counseling on policies and procedures to the staff.
  • Develop training and development programs.
  • Ensure that the organizational chart and staff’s contact information and personnel profiles for the staff are updated on a regular basis.
  • Running leave, absences accruals (if leave time is accrued monthly).
  • Monitor mandatory trainings completion.
  • Assist in performance management and employee’s evaluation process.
  • Provide efficient support to international staff and visitors, preparing invitation letters for visas, registration support for international staff when required.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in HR and administrative related work.
  • Good understanding of labor law.
  • Knowledge or experience of NGO work desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian,
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent attention to detail, or organizational skills, problem solving skills and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Proven ability to handle challenging workload.
