HR Officer

£30,000 – £35,000 Depending on experience
Our client, an established family-owned business, who are going through a substantial growth period have identify the need to recruit an HR Officer to manage the full cycle of the recruitment process. This is an excellent opportunity as the company is investing millions into the site with robotics and automation, whilst continuing to be committed to their customers, staff and the environment.
The HR Officer responsibilities will include identifying current and future hiring needs also providing full 360 HR service to all staff on site. As this is a new position within the company, they are looking for someone to take ownership of the role to set up and implement policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hiring managers to write job ads for current openings
- Advertise job openings on careers pages, job boards and social media networks
- Design and implement employee referral programs
- Source candidates through online channels (e.g., social networks and job sites, careers fairs etc)
- Interview candidates during various hiring stages
- Raising offers of employment, taking up references and setting up HR files
- Analyse turnover and retention rates to forecast hiring needs, also collating data
- Help new hires onboard, including site inductions, issuing PPE and monitoring their progress during the probation period
- Conduct employee reviews and appraisals, assist with disciplinaries where necessary
- Being the point of contact with the onsite agencies regarding staffing levels during seasonal peaks, this will include setting KPIs with the agencies to manage the company’s expectations
- Update job descriptions (e.g. add tasks or modify requirements)
- Participate in job fairs to boost company’s reputation
- Working closely with HSE Consultants and the Management team
- Assist with employee training and development
- General HR administration including payroll preparation
Skills And Experience
- The successful candidate will have a HR background ideally within manufacturing this a varied and involved position and would suit someone who is looking for an all round HR role
- Literate and numerate with excellent communication skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use database systems
- Well organised, with a focus on attention to detail
- Flexible, self-motivated and a good team player
