HR Intern Position Summary

Provides support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources. Processes a variety of complex information including, but not limited to employment, pay change, and job posting. Compiles statistics and prepares complex reports for management use. Assists with administration of job posting system and internal employee transfers. Maintains accuracy of plant and office job titles in system by updating corresponding data.

Administers personnel/payroll database. Enters and edits personnel information for all Magna Mirrors employees. Responds to employee questions regarding pre-employment screening, human resource policies and procedures, etc. Maintains and distributes current employee information, policy and procedure manuals and other communications. Identifies and corrects inaccurate information. Assists human resource department staff with projects as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Work is standard, moderately complex, and performed under general supervision. Work involves independent decision making on short to moderate-term issues/planning with guidance furnished on unusual matters. The impact of decisions have a short to moderate-term impact and involve limited to moderate risk to the organization. Primarily involves intermediate through advanced-level work.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Working toward Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or business or related area. Must be able to understand Company security issues handle matters of confidentiality discreetly.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to advance in the Human Resource Department.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and understand software including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications in order to perform job duties and responsibilities. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in order to prioritize programs and projects and deal with different tasks at one time.
  • Superior accuracy skills.
