HR Advisor (Maternity Cover – Up to 52 weeks)

Islamic Relief UK (IRUK) is currently recruiting for the position of ‘HR Advisor’ on a temporary basis (Maternity Cover – up to 52 weeks) to join its dynamic HR division.

Job Purpose:

· To act as a HR and recruitment generalist, supporting internal customer needs under the supervision of the HR Business Partner team

· To strengthen the employee relations functions by assisting the team to manage employee concerns and implementing relevant policies and processes

· To be responsible for the on-boarding and induction of all new starts and responsible for the administration of all leavers

· To contribute towards the development and implementation of key aspects of the teamwork plans and systems

· To contribute to the department in order to ensure that it is capable of fully achieving agreed targets and departmental objectives.

The successful candidate must have or be:

· Experience of working in a HR or employee relations and recruitment setting

· Generalist HR experience in advising managers on HR matters

· Experience of handling a range of HR and recruitment issues

· Educated to degree level or equivalent experience Part CIPD qualified or working towards post-graduate HR qualification

· Active membership of the CIPD

· Up-to-date knowledge of employment law

· Understanding of and implementing HR policies and procedures

· Knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities

· Working knowledge of HR people management systems

· Advanced keyboard skills, including intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills

· Excellent written skills with the ability to write clear and concise notes, letters and relevant HR documentation Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build credibility with all levels of staff

· Understanding the need to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times

· Able to work on own initiative with awareness of boundaries, escalating issues in a timely manner

· Excellent team player and ability to work autonomously

· Good presentation skills

· Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
