Remote Worker

An experienced Housing Options Officer is required with a minimum of 12 months assessing homeless applications in accordance with the Homeless Reduction Act 2017 and Part VII Housing Act 1996. Officers needs to be able take a holistic and person -centred approach to provide providing comprehensive housing advice to prevent and alleviate homelessness. Candidates will need to be able to assess homeless applications under the legislation, make homelessness inquiries and produce quality personalised housing plans and issue s184 homeless decisions. Candidates will needed proven evidence of working for a local authority in a Housing Options/homeless Prevention Team and assessing. Officers are generic and deal with all case types and will need to be able to triage, assess homeless application circumstances and provide comprehensive housing advice. We operate operate within a duty rota, which performs an in-take function and be able to attend multi-agency meetings. Central Bedfordshire is a large council area and any candidate would need to be able to travel across the area if required. Experience of using housing jigsaw is desirable not not essential. ****THE ROLE IS HAS OFFICE-BASED WORKING ( APPROX EVERY 2-3 WEEKS AND DURING INDUCTION) AND REMOTE WORKING. Candidates who are able to participate in an out of hours/Standby rota is also desired.****
