NRC is looking for a Housing, Land, & Property (HLP) Coordinator to join the mission in Bangladesh for the Rohingya response in Cox’s Bazar. The HLP Coordinator will improve information, awareness, and understanding; improve coordination among stakeholders; and improve practices for HLP. If you are an excellent communicator with good stakeholder management skills, have a resilient mindset and a hands-on approach, and a background in legal assistance, then this is the role for you!

What You Will Do

  • Partnerships and stakeholder management (identify and build relationships with experts and stakeholders within the international humanitarian community; the Government; local authorities, professional associations; research organisations, etc.).
  • Assessments, analyses, and reporting (technical support to the development of analysis of existing and emerging HLP issues and specific recommendations, provide technical support to tool development, and provide an overview of the HLP legal framework).
  • Strategy development (develop a strategy for addressing critical HLP issues).
  • Coordination (ensure efficient coordination on HLP issues with the Government of Bangladesh, other stakeholders, and the humanitarian community).
  • Policy and technical support (provide policy advice, develop and distribute appropriate technical information, and support capacity to respond to HLP issues).
  • Monitoring (promote use of participatory mechanisms for monitoring of HLP-related interventions).

What You Will Bring

  • Project management experience within an international humanitarian organisation in an emergency setting.
  • Refugee response exposure, in high risk and volatile contexts.
  • Legal assistance and protection experience (specific to Housing, Land, and Property).
  • Bangladesh context and the Rohingya refugee response experience and knowledge.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.
