Duties May Include

This position is responsible the daily scheduling operation of the Home Support Program by performing a variety of administrative support functions such as supervising staff, monitoring expenditures, providing input into the development and evaluation of program policies and standards, and developing and implementing new work methods/procedures..

  • Supervises scheduling staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback and evaluation, determining training requirements, and maintaining timekeeping and attendance records;
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of scheduling staff by performing duties
  • Provides input and feedback to the Manager regarding the development and evaluation of program policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs payroll functions such as maintaining the security of timesheets and payroll records
  • Ensures payment of financial documents by reviewing for accuracy, obtaining spending authority’s signature and submitting to Financial Services
  • Answers inquiries and addresses issues from a variety of external and internal sources.

Hours of work: Monday – Friday: 08:00 to 16:00

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

Grade 12, accredited Office Administration Certificate, and three years’ recent related scheduling and supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Completion of a 5 minute Typing Test 30 wpm or greater, dated within the past 24 months and must be issued from a valid institution only. (ON-LINE TESTS NOT ACCEPTED)

Current Valid B.C. Driver’s license.

Skills And Abilities

 Ability to supervise in an effective manner.

 Ability to exercise initiative and ability to analyze and resolve problems.

 Working knowledge of the Provincial Collective Agreement between the Health Employers Association of British Columbia and Community Sub-sector.

 Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.

 Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

 Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback.

 Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.

 Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.

 Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.

 Business writing skills.

 Knowledge of general office procedures.

 Ability to type 30 wpm.

 Ability to operate related equipment including demonstrated proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications.

 Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
