About Heart Research UK
Proud to stand out from the crowd, Heart Research UK is the charity dedicated to your heart. We inspire and invest in pioneering medical research, ground-breaking training and education, and in communities to help people improve their heart health for themselves. For over 50 years we have driven advancements in the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease to benefit patients as soon as possible.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) kills more than one in four people in the UK, and coronary heart disease is one of the single biggest killers in the UK.
Since 1967, Heart Research UK has invested over £25m in life-saving medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease. We know research works, but there’s a lot more that needs to be done.
Through pioneering research and accessible education, we will reduce the number of people developing and dying from heart disease, while improving and extending the lives of those affected. Our focus is prevention, treatment, cure.
Our values reflect who we are as a charity. We are dedicated to fundraising ethically, and to ensuring that the money our supporters donate is spent in the best way possible.

We will continuously demonstrate our credibility and knowledge
We will always act with integrity, compassion and humility
We are committed to working together to make a difference
We are passionate, and proud of it
We strive to be innovative and collaborative in everything we do
We are large enough to have a voice and small enough to hear yours
Our People
We are currently a team of 31 people and growing. There are currently 9 people in the Health Promotion and Education Team. Since the pandemic, we have moved to a hybrid working model, with some of our team members working remotely, with occasional trips to Leeds.
We look after our team and have developed a number of wellbeing initiatives to help support staff. This includes regular wellbeing sessions which cover a variety of issues such as sleeping well, nutrition, setting goals etc, as well as giving staff 20 minutes on 3 days each week to go for a walk.
This is an exciting time to join the charity as we have recently launched our new long-term strategy, building on our ambitions to make an even bigger difference to people developing or dying from heart disease.
We are looking for someone to join our energetic, collaborative, dedicated team – someone who will add to our culture and have the drive and passion to help us achieve our ambitious goals.
