The Healthcare Consultant role at Farsight Africa Group is an Advisory level position within the Healthcare Unit. The Healthcare Consultant will be based in the Nairobi, Kenya office, with a hybrid nature of work requiring at least 50% physical presence in the office. The role involves providing data-driven consulting services to Farsight clients and requires an innovative and analytical thinker to execute data-driven strategies.

Principle Responsibilities:

Co-ordination

  • Communicate the processes and information regarding medical service provider’s healthcare services to potential patients while marketing and promoting healthcare providers by using promotional materials provided by the service provider.
  • Ensure coordination between medical service providers and the patients.
  • Inform patients to be referred to medical service providers in detail about the planned health service in line with the information regarding the process communicated by such medical ssrvice providers. This includes but is not limited to; fully informing the patient about the duration of the patient’s stay in hospitals, that some examinations may be required before the procedure, that examinations may be required after the procedure.
  • Arrange appointments with the medical service providers for patients who want to benefit from their services.
  • For patients with appointments, ensure the coordination between the medical service providers and the patients.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with healthcare organizations to develop and implement strategic plans that enhance patient care, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Performance Improvement

  • Evaluate and identify opportunities for improvement in clinical and operational processes. Develop and implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care and patient outcomes.

Healthcare Policy Analysis

  • Stay abreast of healthcare policies, regulations, and industry trends. Provide expert analysis and recommendations to clients regarding the impact of policy changes on their operations.

Quality Assurance

Work closely with healthcare providers to establish and maintain quality assurance programs. Ensure adherence to best practices and standards to enhance the overall quality of healthcare delivery.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Foster collaboration between healthcare professionals, administrators, and other stakeholders to create integrated and patient-centered care models.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their unique needs, providing expert guidance, and delivering solutions that align with their organizational goals.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

  1. MD or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Professional Experience:

  1. 3-4 years post qualification experience as a general practitioner in similar role.
  2. Valid Professional Licence to Practice by the appropriate professional bodies.
  3. Prior experience in healthcare consulting or related roles will be preferred.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical concepts to non-clinical audiences.
  6. Proven ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
  7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic consulting environment.
