UOSSM USA’s vision is to alleviate the suffering and improve the healthcare, mental health, and well-being of people affected by crisis. To achieve that vision, UOSSM USA provides, in collaboration with its strategic partners, impartial lifesaving support, medical relief and access to quality healthcare and mental health services to people affected by crisis through its impactful and cost-effective programs. UOSSM USA currently supports Mental Health and Protection (MH&P) services in Turkey and is looking forward to expanding its impact in MH&P to the underserved people in Jordan, Syrian refugees, and other refugees affected by crisis.

About the UOSSM USA project :

The project aims to provide integrated health and psychosocial support to vulnerable Syrian refugees in the Ramtha district of Irbid governorate in Jordan. The project targets Syrian refugees suffering from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and disabilities with integrated psychosocial support activity, through a partnership with a national local NGO. The primary objective of the project is to support access to essential health services and psychosocial support to the target population through a mobile clinic, promote coordination and collaboration among relevant stakeholders, and strengthen the capacity of the local NGO to provide integrated health and psychosocial support to vulnerable Syrian refugees and decrease the burden on the health national system to. The project activities include conducting a needs assessment, providing essential health services and psychosocial support through a mobile clinic, strengthening the capacity of the local NGO through training and capacity-building activities, and promoting coordination and collaboration among relevant stakeholders.

About the role

The Health Partnership Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring health partnerships, with a focus on public-private partnerships, to strengthen health systems and improve access to health services in fragile and crisis-affected settings. The position requires a dynamic and experienced individual with a deep understanding of health systems and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, private sector actors, government representatives and civil society.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to identify and engage potential partners, including private sector companies, local NGOs, and government entities, to support health programming.

• Build and manage relationships with partners, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination towards shared objectives.

• Provide technical guidance to partners on health systems strengthening, health service delivery, and emergency response.

• Conduct assessments to identify gaps in health systems and develop innovative solutions to address them, with the support of partners.

• Develop and manage partnerships with international donors, including USAID, the EU, DFID, and PRM, to leverage funding and resources for health programming.

• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and regulations, including reporting and monitoring.

• Represent the organization in high-level meetings with government officials, UN agenesis, private sector partners, and international donors.

• Monitor health programming activities and report on progress and results to partners and donors.

• Stay up-to-date on developments in the health sector and share relevant information and knowledge with partners and staff.

• Lead and manage a team of health program staff, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support.

• Other tasks as needed or requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, health management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• At least 7 years of experience in health program management and 10 years of relevant working experience in an INGO in crisis-affected settings.

• Experience in direct managing healthcare activities and partnerships with government entities,

local NGOs and the private sector.

• Strong knowledge of non-communicable diseases projects and health service delivery, in an emergency response setting.

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage health program staff.

* Good knowledge is needed in the northern areas of Jordan, particularly in the Ramtha district and its sub-districts.

• Fluent in English, with strong writing and presentation skills. Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

The Health Partnership Manager will be based in Ramtha city and will report to the Program Manager The position requires frequent travel to project sites in [Amman]. The successful candidate will be committed to the organization’s mission and values and will be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Other Skills: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft word and excel software, at minimum. Ability to work under pressure. Problem-solving skills. Conflict- resolution skills.

Language Skills: Fluency and proficiency in speaking and writing in both Arabic and English (required) and writing professional program reports and proposals in English.

Working Environment: primarily on site, and potentially remotely; based on needs and circumstances (i.e., Amman office, program centers, working group, etc.).

Working Hours: Working hours are from 8:00am to 4pm (may vary based on meetings and work conditions), Sunday to Thursday.

SALARY: $1500 USD / Month
