Health Delegate for Ukraine

The Austrian Red Cross (AutRC) is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Health Delegate. The delegate is implementing assistance projects to conflict affected people in Ukraine and host communities.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Managing the implementation of ongoing health projects jointly or on behalf of the state health authorities
• Plan and implement long-term assistance programs for temporary displaced persons and host communities to complement the public health system, and where necessary support re-building and strengthening capacities
• Diversify programming according to local needs and specialization of the local Red Cross branch
• Support the local Ukraine Red Cross Society branches to develop HR and organizational capacities to implement projects and to develop sustainable services in the health sector
• Enable close coordination with other Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners, authorities and other stakeholders
• Ensure proper management in terms of finances, reporting, efficiency and timeliness of assistance
• Mainstream protection, inclusion and accountability principles across all activities

Your profile

• At least 3 years’ experience in international humanitarian and/or development programming (NGO, IO or Charity)
• Degree or diploma in public health or medical professions (incl. Emergency Medical Services)
• Comprehensive knowledge and skills in implementing health programmes
• Expertise in prehospital care, visiting home-care systems, and/or stationary and mobile basic healthcare provision is a strong asset
• Experience in a Red Cross and Red Crescent National Society, IFRC or ICRC is a strong asset
• Ability to work under pressure in a demanding security environment
• Project and finance management skills
• Very good English skills, Ukrainian, Russian and German skills are a strong asset
• Strongly motivated by humanitarian and development work, and high sensitivity to diversity

• Working time: full-time
• Compensation: depends on qualifications and experience, minimum monthly all-in salary of € 3.600,00 gross
