Starting date: December 2023 or January 2024

Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension

About People in Need Philippines:

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech non-profit, non-governmental organization that has been providing relief and development support in both developing and conflict regions around the globe since 1992. In Asia, PIN has a growing portfolio of projects focused on DRR, social cohesion or accelerating the uptake of green technologies in agricultural value chains through innovative applications of market systems approaches.

In the Philippines, we implement programmes on Social Cohesion, Disaster Management an Alternative Livelihoods / Agri-fishery markets. In recent years, PIN has been operating in some of the most impoverished and climate-vulnerable areas of the country to provide access to renewable energy, strengthen local markets and enhance emergency preparedness capacities. Through this, we aim to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities and their ability to cope with the consequences of future disasters.

Position Summary

The Head of Systems and Operations (HoSO) is a member of the Country programme management (together with the Country Director (CD) and Head of Programmes (HoP)) and shares responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of People in Need’s (PIN) Country programme. The primary role of HoSO is to manage and improve the support systems and operations required to achieve this objective comprising of the Finance, Human Resources (HR) and Logistics departments.

In performing this role, HoSO also ensures an enabling environment for the implementation of the Country programme, while maintaining operations and systems that meet the accountability requirements of PIN and its donors. HoSO also directly leads the process of development and staff capacity building across the departments in terms of the systems and operations.

For this position, we consider important

  • University graduate
  • Education (university or secondary level) in finance, business, accounting, procurement, logistics or similar study programmes
  • Previous experience in a finance position preferred
  • Communicative level of English (minimum of active B2)
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate clearly with different groups of people and to respect the different cultural background
  • Ability to work independently and effectively
  • Ability to deal with complex compliance agenda
  • Analytical skills and systematic approach
  • Responsibility, ownership, proactive approach, flexibility
  • Strong training/coaching skills
  • Keen eye on details and passion for working with numbers
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with project management is welcome
  • Knowledge of SAP, MS Dynamics Nav or other ERP is an advantage

PIN Offers

  • Salary and benefits according to PIN salary scale and HR policies; expected salary of 2800 – 3000 EUR super gross (based on experience), monthly subsistence allowance of 1350 EUR;
