Head of Support Services

Islamic Relief Worldwide is currently recruiting for the following position based in Afghanistan to join its dynamic International Programme Division.

Position: Head of Support Services

Type of Contract-Duration: Fixed Term-1 year

Base Location: Kabul

Salary per Annum: £35,660, Plus an additional 20% of this salary in Benefits

Job Purpose: The Head of Support Services will offer overall direction and management of all support services in the operation, in close cooperation with the Country Director. S/he will ensure the existence of effective and efficient business support in the CO’s finance, procurement and logistics activities and IT. S/he will play a key role in developing and implementing country specific strategies as well as devising, implementing and improving support services systems, processes and policies in in accordance with IR guidelines

Essential:

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CCAB)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers.
• Ability to manage and supervise finance and non-finance staff in multiple and remote locations.
• Ability to think and act strategically.
• High degree of computer literacy in Microsoft Office and IRW’s financial systems.
• Ability to develop and build capacities of staff
• Fluent in English written and spoken

Experience

• Experience in working independently and providing initiative in improving finance and Supply Chain functions.
• Hands on experience of Microsoft AX finance Module
• Experience of establishing good working relationships with a variety of people.
• Experience of working under pressure and of prioritising work demands effectively
