The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Risk/Compliance leader who wants to help people harness their own power to achieve a feminist, just, green transition in the 45 countries where ActionAid works.

You will lead teams that work on the various aspects of Risk, Compliance and Assurance at the Global Secretariat (GS); this includes SHEA (Safety, Health & Environmental Affairs), Internal Audit, Assurance, and Legal and Data Protection. This role is critical to ensuring that the GS plays a key role in supporting members to be compliant with core ActionAid International (AAI) policies and to monitor and mitigate collective risks for the federation. This integrated approach will ensure that the organisation is able to assess and manage risks and compliance in a holistic manner.

Who we’re looking for:

With substantial experience in an enterprise risk management environment, you should also have relevant risk management and legislative environments and working with regulatory environments in NGO’s. In addition to this, you should have experience in producing a multi-entity and complex risk- register. You be able to comfortably liaise with all levels including Senior Management and Boards and should be able to manage teams based in multiple locations.

You’re a collaborative and courageous leader who exemplifies our feminist leadership and safeguarding approach, including self-awareness, self-care and caring for others, dismantling bias, responsible & transparent use of power, respectful feedback, and zero tolerance for discrimination or abuse

You’re used to working magic with a limited set of resources through your creative ideas, drive for results and ability to galvanise commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.
