The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce)
Are you an experienced Head of Design looking for your next challenge?
Do you want to work for an exciting social change organisation with the mission of enabling people, places and the planet to flourish?
With our new Design for Life strategy we are embarking on the next chapter in our 260 years’ strong history of social impact, with a range of interventions to unite people and ideas to turn world changing ideas into world changing actions.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Head of Regenerative Learning and Design to help us achieve real impact by entrepreneurially developing and delivering interventions that support the RSA’s Design for Life mission to unlock everyone’s potential to contribute to regenerative impact. By regenerative impact, we mean tangible progress towards improving the health of our interwoven social, ecological and economic systems and their ability to restore and replenish one another. This moves us forward from the passive ‘do less harm’ principle of sustainability, to the active ‘do more good’ principle of regeneration.
This role is based from RSA House in London for at least three days per week, with hybrid flexibility for the remaining days.
About You
What we look for in a successful Head of Regenerative Learning and Design candidate:
- Commitment and passion for The RSA’s mission to shape a more regenerative world.
- Knowledge of regenerative design, learning design and systems thinking theories, approaches and methods, and their practical application to complex social and ecological challenges.
- Experience of developing commercial offers, products and proposals for public, private and third sector partners that have successfully led to revenue generation.
- Experience of working with people, communities and businesses to transform future capabilities needed for innovation and action that contribute to a more regenerative world.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – able to quickly develop collaborative working relationships and communicate, influence and negotiate with multiple stakeholders at different levels and from a range of backgrounds and disciplines.
- Open and curious attitude to learning, iterating and adapting through doing.
