**Head of Quality and Safety Location: UK flexible (hybrid role working between home and office) Contract type: Permanent Hours per week: 35 Salary: Up to £67,620 per annum (plus £3,344 Inner London Weighting if applicable)

Could you lead and develop the management system for quality, health and safety for UK services, setting quality and safety standards and driving continuous improvement to support British Red Cross services across the UK to be safe, effective and provide a good experience for users?

About this opportunity**

As Head of Quality and Safety, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of quality and health and safety subject matter experts, providing active and visible leadership of quality and health and safety. An empowering and inspiring people manager, you will role model organisational values an d behaviours, and build a safe and compliant culture.

Reporting to the Director of Quality and Safety, you will define quality policies, strategies, and will oversee systems and processes to ensure that UK services are safe, effective and provide a good experience. To ensure that the British Red Cross effectively manages quality and health and safety risk across our UK service delivery and complies with relevant legalisation, your team will provide high quality and responsive advice to stakeholders and those delivering services.

You will be required to build new and develop existing quality and health and safety standards reflecting regulations, sector benchmarks and customer requirements for each of the three cause areas – Health Inequalities, Displacement and Migration and Disasters and Emergencies. Working alongside Compliance colleagues, you will direct subject matter expertise into assessment and assurance activities.

This role might be for you if…

  • You are a quality professional or have significant experience in operating within a regulated health care environment
  • You have extensive experience of leading, managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams to address risk in a large, complex organisation.
  • You can demonstrate experience of leading the provision of a high-quality service to internal customers and of managing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • You have highly developed communication skills.
  • You can demonstrate a proven track record of influencing outcomes and driving solutions to complex problems
  • You have experience of managing both functional budgets and operating plans.
  • Ideally you will have experience in the charity sector, along with some understanding of safeguarding and leadership of incident responses and investigation oversight.
