Description

Ideally based in Washington DC, this role is remote home based in the US on East Coast or Central time zones. We will also consider applicants who are homebased in the UK however will require flexible as this role is working closely with team members in the US on East Coast or Central time zones.

This role is classified as requiring advanced pre-employment checks

For candidates based in the US a mandatory policy for COVID 19

About the opportunity

As the Head of Program Development, you will be a creative and entrepreneurial professional leading the organization’s institutional donor business development efforts.

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer (CPO), the Head of Program Development will lead the global program development team and a member of the RI’s Leadership Team.

Your role will coordinate RI’s overall business development strategy and oversee the small busy global PD team and ensure country teams are supported in order to successfully identify, track, prepare for, and win proposals/new programs.

About you

You will have experience in leading organizational development efforts by refining and developing the existing business development strategy at the global, regional, and country levels. Bringing experience in providing critical analysis and insights to the Senior Leadership, Board and CEO. Including success in managing engagement with institutional donors, as well as relationships with non ‐ profit and for ‐ profit partner organizations

The experience and skills you will bring

You will bring a track record of achievement in a previous, similar role with a progressive work experience and responsibility within an INGO context. Together with a proven experience to lead/motivate teams in a positive and professional manner in challenging and complex fragile contexts.

Your excellent relationship management skills with donors will be essential together with your hands on experience in proposal writing and partnership development track record will ensure success in this role.
