Head of Pharma Project Engineering in Lengnau BE

Summary

The Head of Project Engineering is leading manage the local Capital Investments in Lengnau. This role oversees the multiple projects in the Planning, Execution and progress Tracking and reporting effort of the Engineering and Design Activities activities through Concept- Basic- and Detailed Design, and will plan, lead and drive to completion of all the agreed Deliverables to be able to purchase all Equipment and different Subcontracts for the Construction of the Facility.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of engineering tasks for capital projects which includes concept development, establishment of Project team, basic engineering, process transfer and optimization, technical and economic evaluation of alternatives, scope definition and control, estimating, scheduling, compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), construction execution, commissioning, qualification and validation;
  • Responsible for the complete Site and the interfaces within.
  • Interaction with Engineering Contractor PM / Engineering / Designers / Procurement / Subcontractors
  • Generating and Planning the Engineering, Design and CQV timelines with the Project Planner – assigning work sequences and priorities to meet the project’s timelines
  • Ensure all engineering activities are delivered according to the timelines and within budget by leading the entire engineering project work scope and resources on a given project
  • Provide leadership, guidance, accountability and structure to the Engineering and Design activities
  • Leading the assigned Engineering & Design Team

Education & Experience:

  • A higher technical degree (MsC, PhD, BsC), on the job proven experience gained in pharmaceutical engineering projects, chemical engineering projects or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of confirmed experience gained in pharmaceutical engineering projects, chemical engineering projects or equivalent and successful delivery in an environment with pharmaceutical (engineering-, design- and) construction activities
  • good understanding of technical installations and pharmaceutical processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and preferably German or another European language
  • Confirmed experience and in-depth knowledge in the engineering activities of Capital Projects and in working on site in a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor environment;
  • Excellent partnership and interpersonal skills
  • Must have experience working in the pharmaceutical sector in a GMP environment
  • Good Leadership and teamwork abilities to supervise and lead a large group of technical people on a multi- disciplined team for major capital project(s)
