BRAC International (BI) is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:

Head of Partnerships, Global Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships (GRP), BRAC International

The main purpose of the Head of New Business Development & Partnerships is to profile, prospect and raise funds for BRAC programs from donors from; new fundraising markets for BRAC, The European Union/ECHO, as well as Europe at large, Africa and The Middle East. These can be bilateral donors, foundations, multilaterals and regional organisations. Head of New Business Development & Partnerships will be responsible for coordinating and supervising donor engagements with new prospect donors.

In case these engagements lead to concrete opportunities, the Head of New Business Development & Partnerships will coordinate proposal development trajectories amongst all BRAC entities, including the BRAC UK and BRAC USA affiliate offices. The head is expected to contribute to the implementation of the OneBRAC Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy, with a particular focus on fundraising in new markets. The head will also be responsible for staff that will provide support as relevant to the GRP team.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development:

  • Support, develop and implementing an action plan for resource mobilisation with bilateral donors, foundations, multilaterals and regional organisations in new fundraising markets, in line with the OneBRAC Global Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy under the guidance of the director of GRP;
  • Develop donor engagement strategies/ Business development plans for potential donors at country level and in new fundraising markets, in collaboration with BRAC´s country and regional fundraising teams and BRAC affiliates;
  • Tracking latest funding trends, and contribute to the further development and implementation towards the relevant donor segments;
  • Coordinating and facilitating general information sharing on areas of responsibility within the GRP team, as well as towards BRAC’s country and regional fundraising teams and BRAC affiliates;
  • Actively support the GRP Directors Resource mobilization and partnership and other senior member by developing briefing notes etc.
  • In close collaboration with the Head of resource mobilization GRP, coordinating pitch and proposal development in collaboration with BRAC affiliates, country and regional teams, the GRP team, and relevant staff from Communications and other relevant teams.

Other:

  • Providing regular updates to the Director GRP BRAC International on progress and results within areas of responsibility;
  • Developing internal stakeholder relationships, in particular within the GRP team and with BRAC’s country and regional fundraising teams and BRAC affiliates to align funding needs and opportunities, as well as BRAC Board members who may hold key relationships with potential donors in new fundraising markets;
  • Participate in national, regional and global events to profile the work of BRAC International;
  • Support and lead capacity enhancement of country, regional and global teams on matters as; how to build effective partnership, how to close a deal;
  • Supporting the coordination and management of a cohesive and consistent structure and framework for managing existing and prospect donors and partners across the organisation;
  • Manage performance of team members in a consistent and structured way.

Safeguarding:

  • Establish a safeguarding culture across all level of the programme by implementing the safeguarding policy. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment;
  • Responsible to ensure team members are appropriately trained, supported and have access to resources regarding issues that are identified and actioned in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedure;
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Educational Requirements:

  • Post-graduate/Masters in Development Studies, Geopolitics, Law, Public Policy/ Administration, International Business, Sales, Economics, Business Administration, International Relations or equivalent with a demonstrable commitment to poverty reduction and social justice issues.

Required Competencies:

  • Sound understanding in new fundraising markets, particularly Europe, Africa, Asia and The Middle East;
  • Experience in working with from bilateral donors, foundations, private sector, multilaterals and regional organisations,
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising, relationship building, stewardship for these donor segments;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines;
  • Ability to maximise income through accurate matching of applications to project/propositions;
  • Sound understanding on donor mapping, scoping, profiling and/or donor engagement activities;
  • Experience in exploring new fundraising markets;
  • Experience in organizing relevant outreach efforts (meetings, events, other);
  • A strong team player who is willing to support colleagues and the wider organisation;
  • Relevant network in the relevant donor segments, particularly in Europe, Asia, Africa and The Middle East;
  • Excellent writing, communication and negotiation skills; trust and open communication; ability to develop collaborative and harmonious relationships with internal partners;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to active citizenship, poverty eradication, global justice, social change, and gender equality Ability to work virtually in a global environment;
  • Proficiency in English required; fluency in an additional language, Arabic would be an asset;
  • Ability to travel internationally @ 35% of time;
  • High proficiency with computers in particular MS Word, Power point, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project, MS Visio, Cloud Computing (Google Drive and Dropbox), and the Internet.

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in an international environment – with a diverse workforce – that includes roles in fundraising/donor relationships, programme development, partnerships, and stakeholder management/communication.
