Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender.
Mission
SIF is looking for a Head of Mission in Chernivtsi, Ukraine.
Under the supervision of the DESK Manager and as part of SIF Mission Team, you will be supervising the mission, and you will be in charge of providing the overall leadership and strategic direction of SIF operations in Ukraine.
Your main responsibilities are the following (evolving and non exhaustive list) :
- To implement, maintain and develop SIF’s presence in Ukraine,
- To coordinate and manage the overall planning and direction of SIF’s operations in Ukraine,
- To develop SIF’s short and medium term strategy for Ukraine,
- To represent SIF, coordinate and advocate on key issues with local and national authorities, UN agencies, donors and INGOs,
- To manage external communications in collaboration with the HQs communications department.
- To manage the team, to participate in their recruitment process
- To ensure that appropriate logistic structures and procedures are established and / or are maintained in accordance with the SIF guidelines,
- To guarantee the respect of SIF procedures, policies and best practices
- To identify and secure institutional donor’s funding
Profil
- Minimum 3 years of Previous experience in humanitarian work, including previous experiences as Country Director, or Deputy Country Director, or Chief of Party with INGOs in similar context.
- Experience in missions opening
- Extensive knowledge and experience of project planning and budget holding; proposal and report writing
- Substantial experience of strategic thinking
- Strong leadership skills and a supportive management
- Ability to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with partners including local authorities
- Experience of working within an insecure environment with responsibility for security planning, monitoring and management
- An understanding of and commitment to SIF’s mission and values
- Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English
Conditions
- 6 months, full time, renewable
- Contract start date: ASAP
- Remuneration according to profile
- Per diem, guesthouse
- Health insurance – 60% covered by SIF
- Repatriation/liability insurance – 100% covered by SIF
- Break allowance during the 3 and 9 month breaks
- Airfare to and from the mission location to home – paid by SIF at 6 and 12 months
