Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Institutional Fundingto join our team based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester/flexible with remote work in the UK. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £55-63k per annum.

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As Head of Institutional Funding, the successful candidate will play an integral role in developing a global funding capability, an institutional funding strategy and long-term plan. We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Head of Institutional Funding:

  • Develop and implement an institutional funding strategy and long-term plan
  • Build Human Appeal’s position, profile and relationships with key stakeholders through global conferences, funding or co-ordination platforms
  • Develop income targets for the institutional funding team
  • Attend high-level meetings
  • Manage the institutional funding team

What we’re looking for in our Head of Institutional Funding:

  • Education Desirable: Masters degree in international development or related field
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in strategy development
  • A proven track record of securing funding from high-profile institutional donors like FCDO, ECHO, USAid, UN Agencies, GIZ or SIDA etc. and corporates, trusts and foundation
  • Extensive experience of team management
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • A strong understanding of the institutional funding landscape
  • Highly-developed written and oral communication, negotiation, persuasion, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development sector
