Head of global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)

The Head of global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS strategies and programs to ensure the safety, health, and environmental well-being of the organization. This role involves leading global initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and other senior leaders to integrate EHS into the company’s strategic objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive global EHS strategies that align with our sustainability and business goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Lead the EHS function, working closely with site teams to ensure cohesive and effective implementation.
  • Corporate Integration: Collaborate with the CSO and senior leadership to embed EHS into our corporate strategy.
  • Policy Implementation: Design and enforce EHS policies and programs that meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize performance data and emerging trends to continuously enhance our EHS programs.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Lead initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint through innovative waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation.
  • Safety Excellence: Develop comprehensive health and safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and implement preventive measures.
  • Incident Management: Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and present EHS performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Training and Awareness: Deliver impactful EHS training programs, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, community organizations, and internal teams, representing our company in EHS discussions.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate EHS goals and initiatives to both internal and external audiences.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing global EHS systems, strategies and programs.
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency in EHS management systems and tools.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
  • Passionate about health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Regular international travel may be required.
