About The Role
Onward Homes is now looking to recruit a Head of Finance Projects and Business Partnering on a 12-month fixed term contract to drive cross functional support to business finance planning, business partnering, development finance and treasury and develop an integrated suite of reports to inform financial planning.
This is a home-based position but it is expected that the successful candidate will attend on site meeting and finance anchor days in our Liverpool and Manchester offices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead the teams responsible for financial insight and analysis across development finance and business partnering.
Finance Leadership
- Work with the Director of Finance and Heads of Department to drive department-wide initiatives, continuous improvement, and cross-functional projects. Work with the Senior Finance Manager of Business Partnering to shape and redefine the finance business partnering service.
Budget and Forecast
- Design quarterly forecast timeline and review processes, manage overall communication to the business. Identify areas of improvement within data capture, assumptions and onward reporting to executive team, treasury & finance committee, and Board. Work with the senior leadership team to scope business-led reporting of budget and forecast that helps drive performance within the organization.
Development and Treasury
- Design a suite of documents that facilitates ongoing review of the development programme, including key financial KPIs. Integrate treasury reporting and cash flow forecasts with the wider budget, forecast and financial planning programmes of the organization.
Financial Planning
- Work closely with operational and financial planning colleagues to ensure that good quality forecasts exist to inform the 30-year financial plan.
Capital and Investment Projects
- Support the organization-wide project groups leading portfolio management (capital asset disposal) and identification of new business streams. Design investment appraisal and return on investment reports which enable review and ranking of key capital projects by the executive management team.
What are we looking for?
Essential
- Experience of leading and managing a team of Finance professionals
- Experience operating at a senior management level within finance, in a role that provides insight to non-finance leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, stakeholder management and the ability to motivate and drive performance.
- Track record within finance project management.
- Commercially minded and able to probe and challenge effectively.
- Experience designing analysis and reporting to support key business decisions.
- Experience of managing and reporting financial performance information.
Desirable
- In role experience of development finance and treasury management
- Experience of working with and influencing external partners.
- Experience of delivering innovative solutions, value for money.
Essential Qualifications
Qualified with a recognised accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or relevant professional experience.
