Head of Finance

I am currently working with a fantastic charity who are looking to recruit a Head of Finance.

Role

In this role you will lead and manage the financial control (sales, purchase ledger, payroll, taxation and statutory reporting) and the business reporting functions which will include

  • Successfully lead and develop a high performing finance function
  • Deliver accurate, timely and meaningful management information and analysis including consolidated financial position and divisional level analysis
  • Prepare rolling forecasts and lead on the annual budgeting process ensuring the process is collaborative with clear and concise reporting
  • Prepare the annual statutory financial statements and manage the external audit process
  • Ensure financial controls are effective and adhered with comprehensive policies and procedures in place and monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared and signed off
  • Ensure payroll is administered; HMRC and pension contributions and all other statutory returns are prepared and submitted accurately and on time
  • Maintain fixed assets register including capital grants received
  • Ensure accurate quarterly VAT returns are prepared and submitted
  • Build strong relationships with Divisional Directors and Managers to provide financial support and drive performance
  • Take strategic oversight of financial systems and processes, including maintaining up-to-date policies
  • Monitor and report cash flow and investment portfolio performance
  • Company Secretarial regulatory tasks to include the lodging of accounts and annual returns to Companies House and the Charity Commission

The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified with a sound understanding of charity accounting and the ability to work at a strategic level.
