Background

Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia; a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Every day, Admiral Nurses help families up and down the country to have the best life possible for as long as possible.

Working closely with the Deputy Director of Clinical Delivery to ensure that the team functions well and meets its objectives, you will embed a culture of joint working, shared resourcing and wider team connection and support mechanisms. Your role will also entail maintaining clinical relevance in the field of dementia nursing, providing steadfast guidance to the Consultant Admiral Nurses within the team. Additionally, you will actively contribute to reporting on service development and quality within Dementia UK’s governance framework.

To be successful in this position, you will need to be a Registered Nurse on the NMC register educated to, or working towards a Master’s degree in a health and social care subject or equivalent qualification or experience. You will have extensive experience of nurse leadership in dementia care including leading specialist and advanced practitioners as well as experience of operational management of nursing services.
