The Opportunity

The Data Team is a brand-new function that’s been created with data at the heart and minds of growing the business to be a data-led company. We want to hear from experienced Data Science Leaders who want to spearhead a transformative data movement, own the data science roadmap and build leading edge AI systems from the ground up while improving people’s lives and help us democratize mobility thru fintech.

The Head for AI & Analytics is a strategic position for Moove. You will play a leadership role across our AI, data science and analytics capabilities; shaping our strategy, defining our ambition and developing junior members of the team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists, MLOps specialists and Machine Learning Engineers. Ensuring that team members are clear about expected standards of performance, motivated and developed to provide effective and efficient services.
  • Build on the Moove’s AI roadmap, lead the development of the Moove AI and data science vision, strategy and capability plan.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Be proactive with asking questions, ensuring that the right questions are being answered with appropriate level of rigor and that analyses lead to clear and actionable recommendations and impactful product changes.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guide data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
  • Influence product strategy and drive change across org boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses.

What You Will Need For This Position

  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field – mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research, economics, etc..
  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering both as an individual contributor and managing teams
  • Ability to drive, strong influencing skills and lead with or without formal power and line authority.
  • Expertise in Machine Learning techniques
  • Expert knowledge of cloud computing techniques
  • Expert knowledge of analytic programming languages (i.e. Python).
  • Expert understanding of AI principles, explainable AI and AI pipelines
  • Expert knowledge of optimization and / or machine learning algorithms and / or deep learning algorithms
  • Expert skills with regard to performance optimization and scalability
  • Proven experience leading teams of Data Scientists/Machine Learning Engineers
  • Experience working in big database environments
  • Experience in visual analytics, storytelling and insight generation to inform and influence decision making across client organisations
  • Comfortable with working with multiple stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment of a global matrix organization with sensitivity and partnering
  • Experience as a product manager in this field is a plus
  • A passion to shape, motivate and deliver AI, Data Science and Analytics work
