Overview: IBTCI is currently seeking a talented Graphic Design Consultant to support IBTCI home office on its contracts, business development and marketing activities. The ideal candidate should have experience in creating high-quality graphics for USAID proposals, a strong design portfolio, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.

This is an on demand consultancy over a six month period of performance with a level of effort ceiling of 30 days.

Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

Using their graphic design, communications, and data visualization skills the consultant will provide support on specific contracts, business development and marketing activities. Tasks could include, but not be limited to:

  • Collaborate with proposal teams to develop graphics and visual representations of complex information and data.
  • Design visually appealing, engaging, and informative graphics, including infographics, charts, tables, diagrams, and maps that meet USAID branding and design guidelines
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant software to create and edit graphics.
  • Work with the proposal team to ensure that graphics are delivered on time and meet proposal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with graphics and branding standards as specified by the donor, solicitation, and/or IBTCI;
  • Ensure cohesion between diagrams and charts in the same document and between sections written by different authors;
  • Create PowerPoints or other visual presentation tools as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Oral and written fluency in English required, fluency in another language preferred.
  • Expert level skills using graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Tableau, Canva, or others;
  • Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office software suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Powerpoint;
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in the context of USAID proposals.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design skills and experience with a variety of software.
  • Strong knowledge of USAID branding and design guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in all design work.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop, and produce stylish documents and presentations;
  • Visual communication: Ability to convey complex information through visual media such as infographics, charts, tables, diagrams, and maps.
  • Creativity: Ability to develop unique and creative designs that meet the needs of the project or client.
  • Strong attention to detail and version control;
  • Ability to take on 1-3 day assignments as needs arise, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work within tight deadlines;
  • Knowledge of current graphics standards for industry donors, particularly USAID;
  • Ability to synthesize inputs from multiple authors;
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to directly communicate with IBTCI clients.
  • This position does not authorize/require the consultant to have decision making authority on final work product.
