Panagora seeks a graphic design and communications manager as a key member of the communications team implementing Panagora’s multifaceted corporate communications strategy. The position requires someone who is highly creative and has extensive experience in graphic design (data visualization is a plus) and can self-manage and prioritize while also working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. The ideal candidate has experience working in international development with USAID or on USAID projects and is excited to work for a successful small business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and execute graphics for a range of corporate needs, including for social media, the website, promotional materials, reports, proposals, corporate documents, manuals, job aids, etc., aligned with Panagora’s style manual and branding guidelines.
  • Support Panagora’s projects with graphic design (and data visualization if applicable) services and design consultation as needed, using the relevant branding and marking plan, and USAID’s branding guidelines as required.
  • Create/improve templates in Canva for other team members to use.
  • Improve InDesign templates for standard graphics as needed.
  • Provide desktop publishing/formatting support.
  • Provide presentation formatting and graphics support.
  • Further develop corporate branding guidelines.
  • Help build capacity on communications team and other staff in basic graphic design using Canva and InDesign.
  • Complete other tasks related to corporate communications as needed, including supporting the internal communications manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Minimum five years of experience in graphic design, preferably within an international development context.

  • Experience producing data visualizations preferred. Training support to build competency in this area will be provided as needed.

  • Proven ability to take in complex information, clarify design and messaging expectations, develop concepts, and execute highly effective graphics on deadline.

  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software for design: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; Premiere a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization software, such as Tableau, a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience working with Canva.com a plus.

  • Strong messaging and writing skills.

  • Experience developing graphics that take into account cultural norms, sensitivities, and traditions.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to think creatively to solve problems, and attention to detail.

  • Team player who is comfortable in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively within and across teams.

  • Experience living or studying abroad in a developing country a plus.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
