MdM currently works in 30 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.

Currently, MdM intervenes in the Northern and Southern parts of Yemen in the governorates of Sanaa, Amanat Alasima, Ibb, Lahj and Abyan. MdM’s strategy is based on 2 key axes:

  • providing primary healthcare services, including OPD, vaccination, nutritional care, reproductive health. 16 health facilities are directly supported.
  • providing mental healthcare and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in specific healthcare facilities and via a network of CHVs trained in detection and community awareness-raising

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the deputy general coordinator, you are responsible for grants management, writing quality proposals, reports, and project development material. You ensure compliance with the donor’s requirements, rules, and regulations.

More specifically, your main responsibilities are:

Fundraising and grants

  • Research potential grant opportunities from various sources, and maintain close coordination with the HQ grants department
  • Keep donor mapping updated with grants opportunities, deadlines, application requirements etc.
  • Organize meetings, follow up with potential donors and attend forums and meetings

Project development

  • Manage the overall development of grant proposals
  • Monitor and track the progress of submitted grant applications
  • Contribute to writing narratives and preparing budgets
  • Gather information and data required for grant applications
  • Participate in grant-related meetings, discussions, and strategy sessions

Coordination and reporting

  • Be responsible for stakeholder reporting
  • Ensure timely submission of reports to HQ
  • Ensure adherence to donor procedures, guidelines and deadlines
  • Follow up on mission-level reportings
  • Support the deputy general coordinator by taking the lead in the writing of certain parts of the proposals and lead in the compilation of the different contributions
  • Work in close collaboration with the medical, logistics, HR and finance departments, to ensure consistency among the different components of proposals
  • Act as a focal point for report-related queries
  • Contribute to the development of fundraising material
  • Support the general coordinator and field coordinators in the preparation of partnership agreements

Communication

  • Collaborate with HQ-based communication department and program support officer to develop new internal communications products for the mission
  • Support program visibility and communication initiatives through travel to field to collect communications content
  • Support program staff draft or review factsheets, presentations, articles, lessons learned documents, and any other media materials and resources as needed
  • Ensure that program communications activities are in line with donors’ communications and visibility guidelines/contractual requirements as well as MdM brand guidelines
  • Develop, maintain, and promote MdM Yemen’s visibility via prior-approved social medial platforms, in line with HQ communication department’s guidance

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Status : Employee

Contract : Fixed-term contract
Duration : 12 months
Starting date: as soon as possible
Gross monthly salary: 2822 euros
Position based in Sanaa with very regular travels to Aden (50% of the time)
Premium equal to one month salary paid in two instalments – minimum of 6 months seniority required
Expatriation bonus (10% gross salary per month)
Transportation cost, vaccines and visas covered
Guesthouse housing
22.5 recovery days per year
5 weeks of paid leaves per year
Health insurance (60% covered by MdM and 40% by the employee)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Higher education (degree in international cooperation, humanitarian studies, international relations, project management, or other related field)
2 years experience minimum in a similar position
Experience in grants management in humanitarian context
Experience in multi-donors’ budgets in humanitarian and development context
Training and capacity-building experience
Ability to draft narrative proposals, reports and amendment notes for institutional donors
Capacity of reading and understanding a donor budget
Understanding of specific business tools (reporting or accounting)
Understanding and identifying institutional donors’ cycles and procedures (especially for GFFO/BMZ, ECHO/EU and BHA/USAID)
Assessing the quality of documents submitted to donors according to their guidelines and the constraints of the teams
Understand the basic/program aspects of a contract
Researching and selecting sources of information
Capacity to summarize and present information about programs
Excellent knowledge of Windows environment (word, excel…)
Languages : Fluent English mandatory (oral and written).
Knowledge of Arabic and/or French would be an asset.
