About Horan Foundation.

HORAN FOUNDATION is a Syrian-focused non-profit organization working in Syria and countries of asylum with no discrimination. through emergency interventions, meeting their basic needs, and implementing highly competent community development programs.
HORAN FOUNDATION was established with the escalation of the Syrian crisis at the beginning of 2012 in Jordan and registered in Turkey in2014 and Switzerland in 2016, where it started as a group of friends to provide emergency humanitarian assistance in Daraa and its countryside. Since then, HORAN FOUNDATION has developed to become one of the largest organization supporting the Syrian people, through the implementation of 350 projects that helped the lives of more than 10 million beneficiaries throughout the Syrian territory and neighboring countries of asylum , and also contributed to the establishment of the Platform of Syrian Associations (Minber Suriye), one of the most important coordination platforms for humanitarian workers in the Syrian affairs. It has the membership of the NGO Forum and membership in Syrian Networks and membership in the Forum for the Voice of the displaced Syrians.

Position Summary.

Intern purpose: The Grants Intern will be working with the Partnership and Grants Team assisting in the day-to-day activities department related to management of grants, program reporting and proposal development.

The Grants Intern will be supporting the Grants and Partnership Coordinator in programmatic monitoring.

S/He will be supporting the collection of data and reports from program teams, tracking program progress and support in internal and external communication related activities.

The Grants Intern will be working closely with the program teams and will be reporting to Grants & Program coordinator.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that relevant information for donors’ proposal and reports is collected from program departments and assist grants Coordinator in drafting donor proposals and reports

• Maintaining Horan’s Turkey grants filing system including hard and soft files.

• Playing a role in Grant Opening and Closing meetings, as well as monthly/regular grants management meetings, which include representation from each unit (finance, programs, and operations) and ensure proper follow up of issues raised.

• Assisting in producing high quality activity and program progress reports as per donors and Horan requirements

• Providing high quality editing and formatting for all program related documents.

• Supporting Grants in organizing and managing meetings with other department within the organization or externally

• Developing donors reporting templates and trackers

• Any other assignments as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, International Development, International Relations, or other related fields.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in English
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting
  • Excellent knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and other relevant programs
  • Physically fit and able to cope with demands of unusual working hours and difficult environments.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, and excellent analytical, writing and synthesis skills
